Taberna Bolero – January 2018
One of our favourite restaurants in Montilla is Taberna Bolero.
The food and accompanying wines, notably the house Amontillado which is over 90 years old, are fantastic so we always make a point of dining here on every visit to Montilla.
Sometimes with friends but on this ocassion it was just us, sitting at the bar, taking in the atmosphere, aromas and of course wine.

Carlos the proprieter is always happy to make recommendations not just for food but local wines and perfect pairings.
So how could we refuse his suggestions which are always varied and delicious, including two dishes from the daily specials board.
Ventresco con ajo negro
Tuna belly with black garlic
Alcachofas Montilla-Moriles con jamón, ajo, cebolleta, menta y salsa fino de Montilla
Montilla-Moriles Artichokes with a Jamon, garlic, spring onion, peppermint and fino Montilla sauce
Solomillo Iberico con Padron Peppers y queso Idiazabal
Pork Sirloin with Padron peppers and Idiazabal cheese
Following our wonderful meal with wine what could be better than to have than a night cap. A brandy from Castilla La Mancha in central Spain at 38%.
