Bodegas San Acacio was founded in 1962, with the primary purpose of marketing its products and obtaining a greater value for them. From this date it has been producing wine from the grapes delivered by its members. The success of its wineries is reflected in the increase in the number of their members, which started at 100 and today there are more than 800 (20% of the population of Montemayor).
We had enjoyed trying the Parlamento Fino in April at the XXXIV Cata del Vino in Cordoba so were keen to try the en Rama version. We brought this bottle back with us in September and we can share our opinion with you.
Our Tasting Notes
Made from 100% Pedro Ximénez grapes, this Fino en Rama has an ABV of 15%.
It has spent 30 months biologically ageing under a velo de flor.
Nose: Wood, salted almonds, slight pineapple, a little yeast, some cut grass/hay and lemon zest.
Palate: Water melon, ripe stone fruits, plum, saline notes with a slightly bitter finish.
Another fabulous fino from a bodega we hope to visit during our next visit to the region in January.
