This is a wine we first reviewed on August 2017 here.
This Oloroso is part of the Piedra Luenga organic range of wines produced by Bodegas Robles in Montilla. The range includes a Verdejo, Tempranillo, Fino, Amontillado, Cream, Pale Cream and Pedro Ximénez.
This is an organic wine elaborated by means of oxidative ageing for 6 years in American oak casks and has an ABV of 16%.
Lots going on with raisins, dates, caramel, camp coffee, mango and peach syrup. Creme brulee notes also come through as the wine warms up.
The palate delivers cocoa and tropical fruit with a hint of ginger with a long dry finish.
We really enjoy going back and trying these wines again. It is interesting to discover how our perception of these wines has changed. Having more experience of them has certainly changed our percption of them.
