In September 2017, during our 7th visit to the region, we visited Cooperativa Ntra Sra del Rosario (Lagar de Hoyos) in Moriles. During that visit we got to try some of their wines straight from the tinajas. This was entirely thanks to Raul and Sofia. We always try to bring wines home to review and here is what we thought.
Our Tasting Notes
Made from 100% Pedro Ximénez grapes, this tinaja wine has an ABV of 15% and was bottled in February 2018 after spending 12 months in tinajas
Nose: Slightly yeasty with Brazil nuts and green apple.
Palate: Yeast, nutty and creamy with hints of grapefruit and nectarine.
